Refund Policy

Platform subscription refunds

Terms of Service Privacy Policy Refund Policy Legal notice

This policy applies to digital subscriptions to The Music School (TMS) platform, billed via Paddle.com Market Ltd as Merchant of Record. It does not cover lessons with an independent teacher, paid directly between the student and the teacher.

1. 30-day free trial

New subscribers may benefit from a free 30-day trial with full platform access.

  • If you cancel before the end of the trial, no charge will be made for that period.
  • If you do not cancel before the end of the trial, your subscription (monthly or annual) will be billed automatically at the chosen rate.

You can cancel from My account > Subscription on app.themusic.school or by contacting [email protected].

2. Right of withdrawal (14 days — EU)

Under European law, EU consumers have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason from the date of subscription.

For digital content made available immediately, you expressly agree to immediate performance of the service and waive your right of withdrawal at payment (mandatory checkbox at Paddle checkout). This waiver is required to activate instant platform access.

3. Subscription cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period (current month or year).

  • No pro-rata refund is granted for the remaining period, except where mandatory by law.
  • You retain access to premium features until the end of the billed period.
  • To avoid automatic renewal, cancel before the renewal date.

4. Refunds

Outside the right of withdrawal and free trial, paid subscriptions are generally non-refundable once the period has started, given the nature of the continuously provided digital service.

A refund may however be granted in the following cases, at TMS discretion after review:

  • Double billing or proven billing error.
  • Prolonged unavailability of the service attributable to TMS, not resolved within a reasonable time.
  • Proven defect preventing normal use, reported within 14 days of discovery.

Approved refunds are processed via Paddle to the original payment method. Credit to your account depends on your bank or card issuer (generally 5 to 10 business days).

5. How to request a refund

Contact our support with the following information:

  • TMS account email address
  • Transaction date and amount
  • Detailed reason for the request

Email: [email protected]
Suggested subject: "Refund request — [your email]"

We aim to respond within 5 business days. If your request is accepted, Paddle will issue the refund.

6. Chargebacks

If you encounter a billing issue, contact [email protected] first before initiating a dispute with your bank. Unjustified chargebacks may result in account suspension pending resolution of the dispute.

7. Role of Paddle

Paddle.com Market Ltd acts as Merchant of Record: Paddle collects payments, issues invoices and processes approved refunds. Invoices and receipts are issued in Paddle's name under their MoR model.

8. Lessons and workshops (outside platform)

Home lessons, intensive workshops and other services with an independent teacher are not billed via Paddle/TMS. Their cancellation and refund terms are agreed directly with the teacher.

9. Changes

TMS may update this policy. The current version is the one published on this page. See also our Terms of Service.
